Our head chef Fu was born in Thailand and moved to Austria when he was just six years old. His grandmother’s restaurant in the heart of Austria was the flash point of his career.

He started his apprenticeship in Mariazell and passed through different stations in Ischgl and Seefeld/Tyrol. With the age of 23 he already became head chef, which definitely shows passion and great talent for his profession.. Fu loves his work which you can feel from the very first bite..

Some years ago he ended up in our wonderful region an in 2017 we finally had the chance to proudly present you the idea of Thai Food by Bürglstein. Cooking classes in Thailand thaught him all required skills to bring the amazing Far-East experience right on your plate here in Austria around lake Wolfgangsee.     Sehr gute Küche, österreichische Kost und Thailändische Spezialitäten. Die Frühlingsrollen sind sehr zu empfehlen. Wir sind spontan eingekehrt und waren sehr zufrieden. Der Service war herausragend und man fühlte sich sehr willkommen.

    We had an amazing family vacation here!

This hotel is family run, from the youngest daughter who helped prepare the breakfast buffet, to the teenage kids that worked the restaurant and the parents who run the ship. Everybody is involved and deeply caring for the guests well being!

We were a party of 8 (age 6 to 72) with lots of food restrictions, which makes eating out a big challenge.
We were absolutely amazed that next to the lavish options at the breakfast buffet, we were served a huge selection of choices specific to our food restrictions. From delicious chia pudding, to vegan and gluten free carrot cake (I wish I had the recipe;-), to vegan spreads and gluten free buns, we lacked absolutely nothing!

Dinner was equally incredible! The Thai food was absolutely delicious, as well were the more traditional austrian dishes! And all our extra requirements were gracefully met.
The rooms/apartments were huge and beautifully furnished. They did not have air conditioning but even during the 36 degree heatwave the rooms stayed nice and cool, while the windows were open.

The Spa area is beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed the infrared sauna!

The only small critique I have, is that there were no screens in front of the windows and we ended up with mosquitos in the room that kept us awake.

    Wir haben unsere standesamtliche Hochzeit mit ca. 40 Gästen im Restaurant Bürglstein gefeiert. Die gesamte Vorbereitung, Organisation und Abwicklung war großartig. Auch die Feier am Hochzeitstag im Restaurant war wunderschön und wird uns für immer Zeit in besonderer Erinnerung bleiben.

    Wir haben hier fantastisch zu Abend gegessen, ein großes Lob an die Küche! Großzügige Portionen, hervorragende Qualität - sowohl die traditionelle wie auch die Thai-Küche - und das alles zu angemessenen Preisen! Das Ambiente ist sehr nett, die Bedienung sehr angenehm, und auch die vegane Auswahl sehr gut. Wir werden dieses Restaurant gerne weiterempfehlen und kommen ebenso gerne wieder! :)
